SSDWLC's 8th Newsletter

BBBBBBBUUUUUUURRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! It is indeed cold in the city of Houston today! Hopefully everyone is staying warm (I know it's not too cold where you are Jess... pray for us!).

I want to first start by recognizing the fact that today is my brother's 34 birthday! Man... we are getting old I still remember when we were children running the mean streets of DeSoto! LOL!

Let's see... I'm still on my cycle and dealing with this water weight. It's all good though! I will give myself a few more days to slim down... it's the same thing every month... I am getting use to it. I did cardio and took a yoga class last night. I must admit it refreshed me quite a bit. After almost 24 hours of being an angel, Caleb snapped (right before yoga)... ya'll were about to read about me in the paper today, but I forced myself to get my "zen" on... good thing I didn't get my "Gin" (my mother) on 'cause he would have gotten knocked out!

All is well with the world and I am at peace. The work out was a tad 'laxed yesterday, but I plan to hit it hard today. We'll see how things work out!

I would like to welcome a dear "old" friend of mine, Crystal, to the circle! Yes ladies (Jana, Mone and Kesia) Crystal is still alive and she just gave birth to baby number 2, Adam, three weeks ago on Dec. 22nd. Crystal wants to lose 20 pounds, so I told her about our support group, and she decided to join in. WELCOME CRYSTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will bombard you with all of the emails you have missed so you can catch up!

CRay's Tip of the Day!
Bask in (and appreciate) the Moment! Often times we (women) tend to get too wrapped up in thoughts of the future. A lot of us have spent time in a living hell, hoping that tomorrow would be better. Let's think about this... if today, yesterday and the day before were horrible, how do you expect tomorrow to magically be great? Not realistic huh?

Appreciate the present... take everyday as it comes and enjoy it. If we spent more time making the present AWESOME a great future is inevitable! Am I making any sense? Stop worrying about the relationship, job and kids. Make the best out of all those situations and remember you have to be your best to make your situation the best!

Stop making excuses for why you aren't living the best life possible, and (in the words of Nike) JUST DO IT!

In Peace and Struggle.
CRay
